MAGICAL ERASER "CLAY"

MAGICAL CLAY

When searching for effective skincare ingredients, I did not thought the ground may not be the first place that comes to mind. But, my friends suggest  the words “clays” (which are essentially types of dirt),I was amazed on hearing their well known astonishing cleansing and purifying properties.
Mud-masking is an ancient times practices for good reason i.e., has lots of skin benefits. Nowadays  the  clay masks stuff is bottled and sold which have become a huge part of our current beauty routines.whatever may be sealed and sold , the elementary ingredients basically remain the same  “clay”.
Clay  is the star component which are soft, fine-grained mineral substances which have the properties of absorbing impurities and helps to heal your skin. If you have noticed, clay masks come in a massive amount of colors and a massive amount of clay, all of which have different specialties. Natural clays have been used on the skin for centuries, and continue to be in part of products today.

CHOOSING OF CLAY FOR YOUR SKIN ..!

VARIOUS CLAY

There are different types of clay which vary in composition depending on the origin. While the properties of each clay varies from each other , they are most commonly used in skincare as because of their absorption properties. When applied, clay pulls oil from the skin, leaving it balanced and clean.
Depending on your skin type, one clay may be better suited for your skin than another. Types of clay are following as kaolin clay , French green clay, Fuller’s Earth Clay, Green Zeolite Clay
, Rhassoul Clay, Brazilian Clay (Natural, Dark Red, Pink, Purple, Yellow), Rose Clay, Sea Clay and bentonite clay.
In general, clays are best for normal to oily skin types because they absorb moisture. If you have extremely dry skin, choose a milder clay. Drier skins can still use clay.If you’re formulating skincare recipes and would like to include clay, learn which is best suited for your skin type below.

·        Bentonite Clay

Bentonite clay is created from volcanic ash. It has strong oil absorbing properties, and is able to absorb more than its mass in water. This makes bentonite clay a great choice for very oily skin. Not only that, but it has electric properties that when mixed with water makes the molecules charged and attracts toxins out of your face and to the clay kind of like a magnet. This also goes for any skin ailments involving bacteria and fungus and impurities.

·        Fuller’s Earth Clay

fuller’s earth clay is also used in cat litter and another powerful absorber of oil and impurities and also has mild bleaching properties. When combined with some rose water and used as a mask, it helps boost circulation. This is recommended for people with oily skin.

·        Kaolin Clay

Kaolin clay is a very fine powdered clay, a gentle clay, with less liquid absorbing abilities than most. This makes it suitable for more sensitive  and dry skin and can come in a variety of colors. As follows as white, yellow, red, and pink are the more popular ones, which vary in their ability.
White kaolin clay is the gentlest and  great for sensitive dry skin. It doesn’t absorb so much but  it does soften with  a mild exfoliation. off-whitekaoline clay makes the skin with texture
Yellow kaolin clay is slightly more absorbent and exfoliating but still remains gentle enough for sensitive skin. This can be more circulation-boosting which result in  brightening masks.
Red kaolin clay has the most absorbing powers of the bunch and is best for oily skin. This is a great addition for acne/detoxifying masks for the face or body.
Pink kaolin clay is pretty much a mixture of the white and red kaolin clays, making it an idea balance for those with sensitive skin that needs a bit of oil-vacuuming and gentle exfoliation.

·        French Green Clay

This clay comes from France and is known for its wonderful oil absorbing properties having a fine texture helping in exfoliation and pore-tightening on top of oil-absorption..It also called Illite Clay or Sea Clay, A dark green clay, sea clay originates from mud laid under the sea millions of years ago (the amount of decomposed plant material and iron oxide ). It has a dark green, grayish color. It is commonly used in facial masks to cleanse the skin. It is suitable for normal to oily skin type.

·        Green Zeolite Clay

Zeolites are microporous minerals which are formed when volcanic rocks and ash react with alkaline groundwater. Green zeolite clay has a slightly larger texture than most clays, resulting in  great absorption properties. It’s best suited for normal to oily skin types.

·        Rhassoul Clay

This clay is great for both skin and hair, this ancient clay is mined from Morocco and is crazy-rich in minerals. It’s very negatively charged and most toxins in your skin are positively charged, so this clay is the perfect magnet sopping up all those impurities—sebum plugs, blackheads, and oil around hair follicles.

·        Brazilian Clay

Brazilian clays are a type of kaolin clay, and come in a wide variety of vibrant hues. The’re naturally colored. The various shades are achieved by variations in the minerals found in the soil in the different regions of Brazil as Natural Brazilian, Purple, Yellow, Pink, and Dark Red. Brazilian clays have an “average” amount of absorption.

·        Rose Clay

Rose clay is considered a type of kaolin clay.  The clay is a light to medium pink shade, which comes from a naturally occurring iron oxide which known for  gentle oil absorbing properties.

MECHANISM OF CLAY TO NOURISH THE SKIN

The most principal function of clay is its ability to draw out toxicity from  the body and from the surface of the skin. clay works by producing a negative electrical charge when it comes in contact with liquid whereas most toxins, heavy metals and bacteria have positively charged molecules. When taken internally or applied to the skin, both two (negative charge from clay and toxin’s positive charge) bind together and through the process of washing the clay off, lead these toxins off the skin. The same thing happens when taken internally.
clay  also rich in beautifying minerals including calcium, magnesium, silica, sodium, copper, iron and potassium which helps in detoxifying abilities, nutritive qualities, and microbial balancing properties for the skin.

NOTE:

don't wait for it to reach the flaky stage before you start rinsing as so it doesn't suck the life out of your skin.
Test the clay on less sensitive areas of your body before using on the face.
