LIPSTICK SHADES

KNOW IT..!

Now that you're thinking about lipstick in a new way, let's look at the basics. In short, lipstick is a compressed tube of waxes, oils, additives and pigments that color and moisturize the lips. Most of us lipstick-wearers don't give much thought to anything other than the color, how it feels on our lips and how much it costs. Lipstick can be had for anywhere from $1 to $100, depending on the brand. One lipstick made by Guerlain costs more than $60,000, but that's probably because of its diamond-encrusted, 18-karat gold tube (we hope).

Choose Your Shade of Lipstick

However, choosing lipstick goes beyond choosing a shade to suit your mood, skin tone, shape of lips and mouth which  can be tricky. For different skin tone and lips shape there are different shades of lipstick that are compatible. Also some lipstick color looks different in a tube than on lips.

So you need to know the different types of lipsticks available and how their formulations will affect the look of your lipstick. Here are a few types of lipstick that are available now. Haven’t you made the experience of shopping for a color and ending up with large collections of lipsticks in the same color range?.

Selecting the best texture match for a person’s complexion is no easy feat. To find your ideal and versatile lip color palette, try to choose the colors that go best with your skin tone and the final image you hope to achieve.
First see what your skin tone is. You should know whether you have a fair skin, whitish complexion, dark or a dusky color.
Secondly see what your undertone as well. Everyone has either a warm undertone or a cool undertone. If the veins in your arms are green then you have a warm undertone, but if they look blue then you have a cool undertone.

Note :

  • Women who have large lips should use muted colors like purples, browns and bronzes.
  • Women who have thinner lips should use light colors like berry, wine, cappuccino and mauve colors.
  • Red lips have always been seen as the quintessence of female beauty. Yet lipstick is  the classic makeup items, can be difficult to use with flawless results.

When You Want to Try  Out a New Shades:

To keep a natural look when trying a new color, go for a tone close to the natural color of your skin as brighter than your natural color may have a dulling effect on your complexion. A contrasting color is often wise.

One-Point Advice :

  1. Any lipstick color with a bluish tone can dull the complexion. To brighten up your face, apply a touch of blusher around the lips.
  2. Color is especially important at the center of the lips. Apply an extra bit of lipstick at the center for a fuller, plumper appearance.
